Winter activities meetings:
Talking Talons Youth Leadership and the “More Kids in the Winter Woods” collaboration are inviting the public to give input on how to improve winter recreating in the Sandia Mountains. Various activities were tried out this winter and meetings will be held to analyze which ones worked best to get people of all ages outside, experiencing the Sandias.
- Capulin Snow Play Area meeting: March 12, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Tijeras library
- Winter trail options meeting: March 18, 4-5:30 p.m. at the Tijeras Library
- Winter education opportunities meeting: March 23, 1-2:30 p.m. at the Tijeras library

Day-long fire readiness program:
Saturday, March 7, EMIPFA will host a fire readiness program from 10 a.m. to about 3 p.m. at the Los Vecinos Community Center in Tijeras. Make sure to RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org! More information can be found in March 4th’s issue of The Independent.
