With Fall, Comes the Turkey Shoot Competition


The Big Horn Gun Club will be hosting a Civitan Turkey Shoot on Saturday, September 29 at Torrance County Park. Registration is at 8 a.m., with a raffle drawing at 2 p.m. Guns, ammo and targets are provided at a cost of $5 per round of shooting. Prizes will be gift cards or turkeys.

The New Mexico Big Horn Gun Club (NMBHGC) is a non-profit corporation, and is NRA affiliated. Club membership is open to the public, and new members are always welcomed. The purpose of the NMBHGC is to promote the shooting sports and to provide safe range facilities for the enjoyment of its membership. The club sponsors various special events and activities throughout the year, and also hosts the Turkey Shoot each year. This year’s  fundraiser will benefit Bro & Tracy Animal Welfare, Wildlife West Nature Park, and Watermelon Mountain Ranch. The Albuquerque a cappella men’s ensemble will begin its 2012-2013 season with its annual free admission concert at the Quarai Mission ruins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 16.
